About Treecycle Glasgow

Who we are?

Treecycle Glasgow was started by a group of friends, just out of Glasgow University who share a passion for supporting their community and promoting a greener city. We wanted to start by tackling a simple issue that we knew we could make an impact on right away.

How we want to help

We have made it easy to recycle your Christmas tree - just arrange a collection, and we’ll pick up your tree right from you doorstep! Our collection period runs from December 27th to January 10th, and we aim to collect your tree within three days of it being places outside. Simply set it outside, and we will handle the rest.

The problem we noticed?

Every year, people face the hassle of getting rid of their Christmas trees. Whether it’s lugging it to a local park or squeezing it awkwardly into the back of your car, getting rid of your tree can be a real hassle. Plus, you end up with pine needles everywhere!

What Happens To Your Tree?

After we collect your tree, it’s transformed through mulching and compacting into small wooden pellets. These pellets serve as renewable biomass fuel, ideal for powering biomass boilers, generating clean energy, and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

This process gives your tree a meaningful second life—first, to create cherished Christmas memories, and then to help keep homes warm in an eco-friendly way!
