FAQ’s

  • 1. What is treecycling?
Treecycling involves recycling Christmas trees into mulch, which can then be turned into biomass pellets for biomass boilers. Biomass boilers heat homes and buildings all across Scotland.

    2. Why is treecycling important?
It prevents trees from ending up in landfills, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and promotes sustainable practices by repurposing natural materials.

  • 3. What types of trees do you accept?
We accept natural, unflocked Christmas trees without ornaments, tinsel, or lights. Artificial trees are not accepted.

    4. Do I need to remove decorations from the tree?
Yes, all decorations, tinsel, lights, and stands must be removed before treecycling.

    5. Do you accept artificial trees?
No, artificial trees cannot be processed through our recycling system.

    6. Do we collect other garden waste, like branches or leaves?
No, our service is only for recycling of Christmas trees

    7. I have left the tree outside but it isn’t on the curb side
We ask that you leave your tree directly outside your property on the curb to make it easiest for collection. If this is not possible, please specify the location and if possible email a photo of where we can expect to find the tree.

    8. What is the cost of treecycling?
We charge £10 per tree for collection from the curb side outside your property

  • 9. When is treecycling available?
Our services run from 26th of December to 15th January.

    10. What if I miss the treecycling deadline?
Send us an email to enquire regarding collection if past the 15th of January and we will try our best to collect it.
